The book opens with Chelsea’s personal story of being adopted as well as her reality of not being able to have children. She takes time to unpack the effects of infertility on a person as well as God’s grace and love towards those walking this journey. Chelsea makes the reader feel less isolated in their grief. She gracefully explains what it means to biblically lament and find hope in their suffering.

Longing for Motherhood is the perfect blend of grace and truth. It does not coddle the sufferer nor does it excuse the onlooker. It shines light on a topic that is so easily ignored and treated with insensitivity. Chelsea not only speaks to those who are experiencing infertility but to the broader Christian community – pastors, leaders, and church members will benefit from reading this book.
